RAS ABU GALUM

Ras Abu Galum
The protected area of Ras Abu Galum, like the one in Nabq, is part of the programme to safeguard the territory enacted by the Ministry of the Environment .
It has been joined to the Ras Mohammed National park .

The zone of Ras Abu Galum is off the beaten track for tourists .
It’s a site of wild beauty, although it has only recently been appreciated for the up-keep of its environment and for the local Bedouin population, whose economy is almost excusively based on the fishing-industry.

Ras Abu Galum can be reached by taking the track which starts from the asphalt road seven km before Nuweiba, going down towards the sea through the Wadi Rasasa .
Here there is a reservoir and a Beduin village, and a four wheel drive vehicle is necessary .
You can then reach Nuweiba from Ras Abu Galum along the track .
